FAQs

What is an Endocrinologist?

An endocrinologist is a specially trained doctor. Endocrinologists diagnose diseases that affect your glands. They know how to treat conditions that are often complex and involve many systems within your body. Your primary care doctor refers you to an endocrinologist when you have a problem with your endocrine system.

What is Type 1 Diabetes?

Diabetes is a disease that is characterized by too much glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. It occurs when the pancreas, a gland behind the stomach, does not produce enough insulin. In type 1 diabetes, the body cannot make insulin.

What is Type 2 Diabetes and A1c?

In type 2 diabetes, the body does not make enough insulin or use the insulin well enough to keep the body working well. Most people with diabetes have type 2 diabetes. Many don’t know they have it. Type 2 diabetes is usually associated with obesity... The test used to measure your control over time is the hemoglobin A1c test (A1c).

What is Insulin?

Insulin is produced by special cells in the pancreas, a large organ located behind the stomach. Insulin helps the body use and store glucose (sugar), which is produced during the digestion of food. Insulin is secreted into the blood at each meal and allows the body to use glucose as energy to fuel basic daily functions like moving and breathing.

Dr. Saberinia is hands down the best doctor I have ever been to. And trust me, I’ve been to many in my lifetime. I never feel rushed when I’m with him. He has such attention to detail. Is very thorough with his exams. Extremely personable. He has even called me after business hours to go over test results. I was so impressed with Dr. Saberinia, that I sent my Father to him. Who drove nearly 20 miles each way, when he had several Endocrinologists closer to him. And his staff have also been equally friendly and helpful.
